He is one of the driving forces behind Drive4Schenker – a self-learning database that contains more than 40,000 carriers throughout Europe and allows dispatchers to quickly find the perfect carrier for a specific freight consignment.
The tool offers a multitude of benefits: For example, it suggests to dispatchers which trucking companies are best suited for a particular freight order – based on historical data and internal ratings, or the trucking company's distance from the loading site. It estimates the transport price and also calculates tolls. It shows where break times or overnight stops should take place. It calculates the estimated driving time and many other parameters. It also shows the level of CO2 emissions the transport will cause and how much it would cost to offset these emissions. When a truck is on the move, the system calculates the expected arrival time for our customers so that they can get ready to receive the shipment. The main benefit for customers here lies in knowing that their freight is being shipped by the ideal carrier for the particular consignment.
